abstract A novel allergen protein other than Der f or Der p family related to mite allergic diseases, and diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic agents using the same are provided. The protein of the present invention is contained in an extract of mite worms, shows a molecular weight of about 15 kDa when measured by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, and is about 5.5 when measured by isoelectric focusing. It has an isoelectric point and has a characteristic of cross-reaction with IgE. When the above protein was analyzed by ESI Q-TOF MS, it was a novel allergen showing homology with mite allergens of Group 2. From the present invention, a novel mite allergen protein, a polynucleotide encoding the protein, and an antibody recognizing the protein are obtained, and by using them, a diagnostic agent, preventive agent, therapeutic agent, etc. for tick allergic diseases are provided.
