titleOfInvention Optical device with neural interface of IrOX nanostructure electrode
abstract An optical device having a neural interface of an iridium oxide (IrO x ) electrode and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. A first electrode is formed on a substrate. A photovoltaic device 406 having a first electrical connection is connected to the first electrode 404. A second electrical connection of the photovoltaic device 406 is connected to a second electrode 412 formed on the photovoltaic device 406. An array 414 of neural interfaces of single crystal IrO X nanostructures (X ≦ 4) is formed on the second electrode 412. The IrO X nanostructure can be partially covered by an electrical insulator (eg, SiO 2 , SiN, TiO 2 , or spin-on-glass (SOG)) with the distal end exposed. A buffer layer formed of, for example, LiNbO 3 , LiTaO 3, or SA can be formed on the surface of the second electrode 412, thereby determining the growth direction of the IrO X nanostructure.
