abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing a cyclic olefin polymer in which the content of metal residue derived from a metal compound catalyst is greatly reduced. A process for producing a cyclic olefin polymer, comprising all of the following steps (I) to (V). Step (I): Uniform polymerization of a monomer containing a cyclic olefin in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of a metal compound catalyst for cyclic olefin polymerization Step (II): Metal for cyclic olefin polymerization in a polymerization reaction solution Step (III) of adding alcohol to the polymerization reaction solution while maintaining the solubilized state of the compound catalyst: Addition of water to the polymerization reaction solution, and a precipitate derived from the metal element of the metal compound catalyst for cyclic olefin polymerization Step (IV) for generating (D): Step (V) for removing precipitate (D) from the polymerization reaction solution in which precipitate (D) is generated: Polymerization reaction in which precipitate (D) is removed Process for obtaining cyclic olefin polymer from solution [selection] None |
