abstract [PROBLEMS] To eliminate disadvantages such as production and cost of conventional polycarboxylic acid poly (alkyl-substituted cyclohexylamide) production methods, and is simple, high yield, and industrially advantageous productivity. A method for producing a polycarboxylic acid poly (alkyl-substituted cyclohexylamide) by an excellent method is provided. In producing a polycarboxylic acid poly (alkyl-substituted cyclohexylamide) by an amidation reaction of a polycarboxylic carboxylic acid and an alkyl-substituted cyclohexylamine, in the presence of a boric acid compound and a phenol compound, or a boric acid compound and a phenol compound. A method for producing a polycarboxylic acid poly (alkyl-substituted cyclohexylamide), wherein the reaction is carried out in the presence of a boric acid ester.
