abstract | A low-difference base material for a light diffusion film used in a backlight unit of a liquid crystal display device having a large screen and a light diffusion film using the same are provided. A substrate for a light diffusing film comprising a film made of a thermoplastic resin having solvent resistance laminated on both surfaces of a film made of a thermoplastic resin having heat resistance. In this base material, the heat-resistant film has a thickness of 5 to 148 μm, the solvent-resistant films laminated on both surfaces have a thickness of 1 to 100 μm, respectively, and a total thickness of 10 to 150 μm. The thermoplastic resin having heat resistance is a polycarbonate having a glass transition temperature of 100 ° C. or higher, and the thermoplastic resin having solvent resistance is a polyester resin. Furthermore, the phase difference of the base material for light diffusion films is 20 nm or less. The light diffusing film is formed by providing a light diffusing layer on one surface of the light diffusing film substrate and providing a sticking prevention layer on the other surface.
