abstract | A color image recording apparatus and a color image recording method capable of efficiently and uniformly irradiating a toner image with light are provided. An image carrier, a toner image forming means for forming a toner image, a color information providing means for irradiating the toner image with light to give color information, and recording the toner image. The image forming apparatus includes a transfer unit 20 that transfers onto a medium, a fixing unit 22 that fixes a toner image, and a coloring unit that develops a color of the toner image T. The coloring information providing units 30A and 30B are toner images of the image carrier 10. This is a color image recording apparatus which is means for simultaneously irradiating light from the T forming surface side and the toner image T non-forming surface side. Further, the image forming method includes a toner image forming step, a color forming information applying step, a transfer step, a fixing step, and a color forming step, wherein the color forming information applying step includes the toner image forming surface side of the image carrier and the toner image non-forming.
