abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyol composition and a method for producing a rigid polyurethane foam for producing a rigid polyurethane foam excellent in foam strength, flame retardancy and heat insulating properties. In a polyol composition for a rigid polyurethane foam, which comprises a polyol compound, a foaming agent, a foam stabilizer and a catalyst, mixed with a polyisocyanate component and reacted to form a rigid polyurethane foam, the foaming agent comprises pentanes. The polyol compound contains 20 to 50% by weight of an aromatic polyester polyol, 10 to 30% by weight of an ethylene oxide adduct of ethylenediamine, and 20 to 60% by weight of an ethylene oxide or propylene oxide adduct of toluenediamine. A polyol composition for rigid polyurethane foam, which contains an amine catalyst and a trimerization catalyst. [Selection figure] None
