abstract Disclosed is a compound that is suitable for inhibition of E1-STS, but has no or minimal estrogenic effect. Compounds are described. In particular, non-steroidal sulfamate compounds are described. This compound is suitable for use as an inhibitor of estrone sulfatase. This compound has a polycyclic ring structure with two or more rings, where at least two rings mimic the A and B rings of estrone. Preferably, this compound has the general formula (A), wherein R 1 to R 6 are independently selected from H, halo, hydroxy, sulfamate, alkyl and substituted variants or salts thereof. Wherein at least one of R 1 to R 6 is a sulfamate group; and wherein X is any one of O, S, NH, substituted N, CH 2 , or substituted C . [Selection] Figure 8
