abstract |
A hard coating composition for use as an antifouling monolayer on an optical display. The coating composition comprises a mono- or multi- (methyl) acrylate monomer having at least one monovalent hexafluoropolypropylene oxide derivative in a conventional hydrocarbon-based hardcoat formulation and a fluoroalkyl group-containing acrylate compatibilizer. And a free radical reactive compatibilizer consisting of either an acrylate compatibilizer containing a fluoroalkylene group. The resulting coating is substantially smooth and has a low surface energy and forms a durable surface layer that is soil and ink repellent. |
