titleOfInvention Integrated separator for electrolytic capacitors
abstract The present invention relates to the field of electrolytic capacitors, an anode having an insulating film thereon, a cathode, an electrolyte in contact with the anode and the cathode, and at least one valve integrated with at least one surface of the cathode and / or anode. A capacitor (FIG. 1) comprising a metal oxide layer is disclosed. The metal oxide layer acts as an integral anode-cathode separator and both or one of the electrodes has an average thickness of less than 10 microns. The present invention also discloses a process for the manufacture of this type of capacitor, which process consists of reactive deposition (in the presence of oxygen) of the valve metal on at least one of the electrode surfaces.
