titleOfInvention | Video system that triggers automatically by collision |
abstract | A video recording system that responds to an automatic control system. The video recording system includes a video camera that can take still pictures or video footage. The video camera can be built inside the vehicle, for example a navigation unit, or it can be combined with a removable electronic device such as a mobile phone. The video recording system communicates with the control system through a hardwire link or a wireless link. The control system includes one or more sensors that can detect the occurrence of a collision. One such sensor is an airbag inflation sensor. If the control system detects the occurrence of a collision, the control system sends an activation signal to the video recording system so that the video recording system begins to take a picture or video image. This video footage is then stored on the spot or transmitted to a remote server. In some applications, emergency staff can use video footage to determine the condition in the car immediately after the accident. |
