Wound contact device |
abstract |
A therapeutic device for promoting wound healing in a mammal is disclosed. A typical device comprises an permeable structure having a plurality of recesses formed in the surface thereof. In use, the surface with the recess is placed adjacent to the surface of the wound. A method of treating a wound is an osmotic structure comprising a plurality of randomly disposed fibers, wherein: (i) a plurality of wound surface contact elements disposed between end portions of the structure; and (ii) Providing a plurality having a plurality of voids defined by the contact elements and applying the permeable structure to at least one surface of the wound. |
