abstract |
A system and method for performing multimodal imaging using a second form of light and imaging. Optical imaging involves capturing low intensity light from a light emitting object. The camera obtains a two-dimensional spatial distribution of light emitted from the surface of the object. Software operated by a computer in communication with the camera can convert a two-dimensional spatial distribution from one or more images into a three-dimensional spatial representation. The second imaging mode can include any imaging technique that complements optical imaging. Examples include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT). The object handling system is configured to move the object to be imaged between the optical imaging system and the second imaging system and to interface each system. [Selection] Figure 1B |
