The present invention relates to a system and method for the separation of proteins, peptides and glycans by one-dimensional or two-dimensional electroosmotic driven planar chromatography. Separation uses amphiphilic polymer membranes, amphiphilic thin film chromatography or other planar amphiphilic surfaces as stationary phase and organic and / or aqueous buffers as mobile phase.
