abstract |
A lightweight, fire resistant fiber cement article is provided that is durable and nailing that can be a cost effective alternative to conventional building materials. The fiber cement article can be shaped to resemble a roofing article such as a wood shake or slate. The fiber cement article includes a hydrophobic material and a thickener, each selected to regulate the hydration rate of the binder. This fiber cement article is durable and will not crack if it is walked on or nailed during construction, and can be walked on it after it has been used and placed in its natural state. |
