It relates to methods and reagents for forming disulfide bonds, especially in proteins, peptides and amino acids. The methods and reagents of the present invention are particularly useful for controlled glycosylation of proteins, peptides and amino acids. The method uses thiosulfonate or selenenyl sulfide compounds as reagents or intermediates. Certain proteins and peptides that contain selenenyl sulfide groups also form part of the present invention. |
