The present invention provides a flowable composition suitable for use as a sustained release implant. The composition comprises (a) a biodegradable, biocompatible thermoplastic polymer that is at least substantially insoluble in an aqueous medium, water or body fluid; (b) a cell cycle-dependent bioagent, a schedule-dependent organism. Agents, their metabolites, their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, or their prodrugs; and (c) a biocompatible organic liquid at standard temperature and pressure in which the thermoplastic polymer dissolves. The present invention also provides a method of treating cancer in a mammal. The present invention also provides a method of blocking, interfering with or otherwise interfering with cell cycle progression in the G1, G1 / S interphase, S phase, G2 / M interphase or M phase of the cell cycle in a mammal. Also provide. The method includes the step of administering to the mammal an effective amount of the flowable composition of the present invention. |
