abstract |
A method for producing hydrogen, comprising: (i) a photosynthetic microorganism capable of conducting electron transfer via a photoelectron “light” reaction pathway and a respiratory electron transport chain with an oxidative phosphorylation pathway, and hydrogenase Providing a photosynthetic microorganism that is expressed and has reduced electron flow to the cytochrome oxidase (complex IV) along the respiratory electron transport chain as a result of disruption of regulation of the oxidative phosphorylation pathway; (ii) A method comprising culturing the microorganism under micro-oxic conditions and irradiation conditions; and (iii) recovering the generated hydrogen. |
