abstract |
The methods disclosed herein are used in the manufacture of controlled release compositions. In particular, the method provides for the creation of a bioactive agent-containing controlled release composition by contacting an organic phase comprising a bioactive agent and a polymer with an aqueous phase containing organic ions. The invention also includes controlled release compositions containing polymers, organic ions and bioactive factors. The invention further includes the use of such controlled release compositions. The utility of the present invention is that the method comprises the manufacture of a controlled release composition that includes a bioactive factor and can be administered in a concentrated small volume dosage form. Initial rapid release and bioactive degradation products are reduced. |
