| abstract |
The present invention relates to a method for determining a dilution ratio of lubricating oil with fuel in an internal combustion engine. The present invention is characterized by comprising the following steps: marking either an oil sample or a fuel with a radioactive tracer and using a detector sensitive to radiation emitted from the radioactive tracer. Measure the radioactivity and communicate the results of the measurement to a computer that uses the results to calculate the dilution ratio of the lubricant with the fuel. The invention also relates to a device used for carrying out the method, in particular a test bench for an engine. |
