abstract The present invention relates to an antihypertensive agent screening composition comprising a mammalian TCTP gene or a protein expressed therefrom, and an antihypertensive agent screening method using the composition. TCTP contained in the composition of the present invention acts as an intracytoplasmic inhibitor of sodium / potassium APTase pump and induces hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy. Therefore, the composition of the present invention and the screening method using the composition can be usefully used for searching and developing antihypertensive agents. In addition, the transformed mouse overexpressing TCTP of the present invention exhibits hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy as a phenotype, and is treated and improved by administering a test substance developed for the treatment and improvement of hypertension or cardiac hypertrophy. By observing the degree, it can be usefully used for screening a test target substance.
