abstract The present invention provides a method for analyzing the contents of a pressurized container, such as a canister of a pressurized metered dose inhaler. The method includes the steps of: enclosing the container in a pressure vessel and then pressurizing the pressure vessel with a non-reactive fluid. The pressurized container is then punctured in a pressure vessel and the contents removed and analyzed. The invention also comprises an apparatus for performing such a method.
