The pentaerythritol diphosphite is produced by a series of transesterifications of pentaerythritol with monophosphites followed by substituted phenols or other alcohols, and the transesterification reaction is carried out under controlled conditions of temperature and pressure. Is done. The unique reaction conditions result in a high overall yield of high spiro isomer content intermediate pentaerythritol diphosphite and final pentaerythritol diphosphite and its diphosphite.
