Methods, compositions and devices for local delivery of compounds are provided. In certain embodiments, radiation pressure is used to direct the carrier to the target site and another radiation is used to fragment the localized carrier to release the associated compound. Ultrasonic radiation is preferred as a source for radiation pressure and fragmentation. Also encompassed are embodiments in which targeting and fragmentation are combined with imaging of the administration site. Another embodiment is also disclosed for local delivery of a compound without the use of a carrier. |
