An assay for detecting the presence of a lysine-enhanced transgenic event based on the DNA sequence of an exogenous DNA construct inserted into the maize genome and the DNA sequence of the genomic sequence flanking the insertion site is described herein. Disclosed in the document. Also provided are transgenic plants having a novel exogenous DNA construct that expresses dihydrodipicolinate synthase whose activity increases lysine in the plant or plant product. |
