abstract Provided is a benzimidazole compound. It is a new benzimidazole compound represented by the following chemical formula 1. In the above formula, X is a halogen element of F, Cl, Br or I, and Y is a group having a strong electron attractive force of a nitro group (—NO 2 ) or a trifluoromethyl group (—CF 3 ). Accordingly, in the present invention, a polymer can be produced by polymerization with a bishydroxy compound, and the produced polymer can be used for the production of various functional polymer thin films.
