abstract | The present invention provides a device for promoting crystallization of integral membrane proteins using the surface of an alkyl ketene dimer doped with a nucleating compound. A coating is provided that enhances crystallization of integral membrane proteins in the presence of a surfactant. In another aspect of the invention, a method is provided for creating a surface of an alkyl ketene dimer doped with a nucleating compound to promote crystallization of integral membrane proteins. In another aspect of the invention, there is provided a method of crystallizing integral membrane proteins using a surface coated with an alkyl ketene dimer doped with a nucleating compound. |
