titleOfInvention | Drug administration to the central nervous system by pelvic vein catheterization and blood reflux in the Batson plexus |
abstract | An infusion device system (10) for administering a drug into a venous blood vessel inside a patient's body. The infusion device system comprises a flexible elongate delivery tube (12) having both ends. One of the ends can be coupled to a source (14) of drug (16) that is remote from the venous blood vessel (26). The system further comprises a delivery component (18) coupled to the other end of the delivery tube (12). This delivery component (18) allows venous vessels (26) to be able to introduce and deliver medication (16) from source (14) directly into venous vessels (26) and into the patient's body. It can be arranged in a face-to-face relationship. The infusion device system (10) further comprises a pressure change device (56) that is used to increase the abdominal pressure in the patient's body. Sampling of venous blood from the meningeal spinal cord is also possible. |
