Transparent thermoplastic blend of cycloolefin copolymer and thermoplastic polyurethane |
abstract |
Blends of cycloolefin copolymers and thermoplastic urethanes with similar refractive indices are transparent. The cycloolefin is derived from norbornene and other monomers, which have a processing range that is compatible with thermoplastic urethanes. The urethane component preferably has a polyurethane intermediate. Thermoplastic urethane compatibilizers are used and desirably have a hydrocarbon intermediate portion. The composition can be made to have desirable dissipative properties for electrostatic control applications. |
