abstract |
An apparatus and method for detecting multiple parameters. The method includes implanting an implantable sensor into a patient body and reading output from at least one implantable sensing element. The implantable sensor has a housing in which a plurality of implantable sensing elements are arranged. At least one implantable sensing element is responsive to lactic acid. Furthermore, the medical professional performs treatment for myocardial ischemia, myocardial infarction, angina (angina), and sepsis based on the read output. Medical professionals further treat patients with implantable cardiovascular defibrillators or patients receiving oxygen supply by an extracorporeal membrane oxygenator. The method can be used in a surgical or intensive care environment. |
