titleOfInvention | Product based on cellulose ester and method for producing the same |
abstract | The present invention provides a method for bonding two or more components by exposing a first component comprising cellulose ester fibers and / or a second component comprising cellulose ester to a plasticizing solvent. The two components are then contacted to form a composite structure, which is then cured by curing the composite structure. The present invention is advantageously used to form filters, particularly tobacco filters, and multilayer automobile headliners. The present invention also provides a method for adhering a cellulose ester-containing automotive headliner to a vehicle passenger compartment ceiling. In this embodiment, the cellulose ester-containing composition is applied to the ceiling of the vehicle compartment prior to installation of the headliner. The headliner and / or ceiling of the passenger compartment of the vehicle is then exposed to a plasticizing solvent, contacting them and then curing, thereby bonding the headliner. |
