Method for improving plant growth and crop productivity by regulating plant hormone levels, ratios and / or cofactors |
abstract |
When temperature and moisture deviate from the two normal values in agriculture, plant growth is damaged and disease is invasive. The Stoller model for plant growth states that proper hormone balance is required for optimal growth and performance. When the growth conditions deviate from normal values, the hormone balance is changed and plant growth is damaged. The present invention supports this model and provides proof to explain the relationship between hormone levels and plant growth. A clear understanding of this relationship will facilitate cultivated crop processing aimed at eliminating these problems. Although we cannot regulate the climate, we can regulate the damage caused by environmental stress by manipulating the levels and / or ratios of plant hormones in various plant tissues. By adjusting the levels and / or ratios of hormones in root tissue, especially auxins and cytokinins, we can help plants in overcoming or offsetting this environmental stress. |
