abstract The present invention provides a non-aqueous composition comprising a particulate solid, an organic medium and a polyurethane dispersant, the polyurethane dispersant comprising an essentially linear skeleton and a polyester, polyether, polyacrylate or polyolefin. With solvent-soluble side chains attached to the side (including mixtures of such side chains). The optimal side chain of this solvent soluble side chain depends on the polarity of the organic medium. In one embodiment, a polyolefin is present, and in another embodiment, no polyolefin is present.
