titleOfInvention | Methods and compositions for treating burned skin |
abstract | The present invention relates to methods and compositions for treating tanned skin. The present invention provides methods and compositions for topically applying a mixture of indomethacin and a humidified lotion to tanned skin. The composition comprises a mixture having 100 mg indomethacin per 30 cc humidified lotion. Humidifying lotions are sold under the trade name Cetaphil® and include the following ingredients: purified water, glycerin, hydrogenated polyisobutene, cetearyl alcohol (and) ceteares-20, macadamia nut oil, dimethicone, tocopherol acetate, stear Contains loxytrimethylsilane (and) stearyl alcohol, panthenol, farnesol, benzyl alcohol, phenoxyethanol, acrylate / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, sodium hydroxide, and citric acid. It is theorized that Cetaphil® provides a certain pH and viscosity level and allows for stabilization and solubilization of indomethacin within Cetaphil®. The present invention may further be used to treat skin burns caused by radiation therapy and excessive heat. |
