abstract |
An important intermediate in any synthesis of irinotecan is 7-ethyl-10-hydroxy-20 (S) camptothecin. A process for efficiently synthesizing this intermediate is demonstrated by advancing the readily available 20 (s) camptothecin. By using the corresponding 7-alkyl-10-hydroxy-20 (s) camptothecin intermediate, a variety of other tecan compounds can be made. |
