An oral care tablet used in the oral cavity that is water-soluble, non-abrasive, foamable, and acceptable as a medicine. The tablet contains tablet components that are mixed into a chewable tablet that includes a carbon dioxide source, an acid source, and no more than 0.2% moisture. The ratio of carbonate to acid is in the range of about 2.33: 1 to about 3.33: 1 and the weight percentage of the tablet component is in the range of about 10% to about 70% of the total weight of the tablet, In addition, the pH of the tablet when dissolved in water to make a 1.0% weight aqueous solution is in the range of about 5.0 to 7.0. Further, in order not to give a rough feeling to the tongue in the oral cavity, a sufficient amount of flavoring agent is included to hide the taste generated from the carbon dioxide source, acid source and binder. Other additives are also contemplated. |
