System and method for introducing multiple medical devices |
abstract |
The first elongate medical device (10) and the short wire guide (11) are introduced into the treatment site in a state of being integrally connected, and both are disengaged remotely within the treatment site, and a catheter member is provided. An apparatus is provided for introducing a secondary device into a treatment site via a wire guide and / or allowing a second wire guide to be introduced into the treatment site via a passage in the primary access device. A separating member may be provided for remotely separating the wire guide from the elongated medical device. Display systems such as radiopaque or visible markers allow the practitioner to monitor the relative alignment of the device within the treatment site to determine when the disconnection has occurred. |
