abstract The present invention provides an image forming method capable of obtaining a uniform gloss feeling on the entire image forming surface regardless of the recording medium used. A toner image forming step of forming a toner image on the surface of the image carrier, and the image of the belt-shaped intermediate transfer film in which the toner image is provided from the surface of the image carrier and an image receiving layer is provided on the substrate surface. A transfer process for transferring to the surface on the image receiving layer side, an overlaying process for overlaying the surface of the intermediate transfer film onto which the toner image has been transferred, and the surface of the recording medium, and fixing the toner image by heating and pressing. A fixing step, a laminate forming step in which a laminated body is formed by pressure bonding by heating and pressing the superimposed intermediate transfer film and the recording medium, and the base material and the image receiving layer of the laminated body. And an image forming method for forming an image between the recording medium and the image receiving layer so that the entire image forming surface of the recording medium is covered with the image receiving layer.
