abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing an oxidized polypeptide in which a sulfur-containing amino acid residue is oxidized. A polypeptide containing a sulfur-containing amino acid selected from the group consisting of cysteine and methionine is oxidized to give cysteine sulfonic acid. Or a method for producing an oxidized polypeptide containing at least one oxidized sulfur-containing amino acid selected from the group consisting of a salt thereof and methionine sulfoxide, wherein the gene encoding the polypeptide is introduced. A method for producing an oxidized polypeptide, which comprises treating a host culture with an oxidizing agent and recovering the oxidized polypeptide. [Selection] Figure 1 |
