abstract | High-saturation color reproduction in a low lightness part is realized by using an ink of a complementary color suitable for a special color ink that reproduces a low lightness part. A device secondary color G-K is reproduced with an ink having a pure color component composed of a mixed color of a special color G ink and a basic color Y ink for toning it. Further, special color R ink and K ink are used as complementary color component inks. As a result, the reproduction line is substantially linear from the device secondary color G point to the device K point, and sufficient saturation can be obtained in reproducing the dark part of the color of the GK line.
