| abstract | A transfer device and an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of an abnormal image by changing the resistance value of a roller of a transfer means. An intermediate transfer body to which a toner image formed on an image carrier is transferred, and a transfer means for transferring a toner image formed on the intermediate transfer body to a recording medium by applying a transfer bias. The transfer unit 22 includes a pair of rollers 25 and 35, a heating unit 31 provided on one roller 25 of the roller pair 25 and 35, and a heating temperature control unit 33 that controls the heating unit 31.
