abstract |
A novel drug that can be used for the treatment of Gaucher disease is provided. A novel isofagomine tartrate salt (isophagomine tartrate) can be used to treat Gaucher disease. Further provided are isofagomine tartrate, methods for preparing the salts, pharmaceutical compositions containing the salts, and methods for treating Gaucher disease. As a method for treating Gaucher's disease, a method is also disclosed in which a functional glucocereprosidase enzyme is administered in addition to isofagomine tartrate to increase and stabilize the activity of glucocereprosidase and increase the therapeutic effect.
