A method for producing an epoxy compound from olefin, oxygen and hydrogen more efficiently is provided. An olefin, oxygen and hydrogen are mixed in a liquid phase with a phenanthraquinone compound and the formula (1). (In the formula, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 each represent a hydrogen atom, or R 1 and R 2 , or R 3 and R 4 , which are adjacent to each other, are each independently bonded at their ends. And a benzene ring which may be substituted with an alkyl group or a hydroxyl group together with a carbon atom of a quinone to which each is bonded, or a naphthalene ring which may be substituted with an alkyl group or a hydroxyl group, X and Y are The same or different from each other, and represents an oxygen atom or an NH group.) A method for producing an epoxy compound, which comprises contacting a noble metal and a crystalline titanosilicate having an MFI structure in the presence of a quinoid compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by the formula: [Selection figure] None |
