titleOfInvention | Hairpin polyamide and its constituent molecules |
abstract | [Problem] To provide a substituent which has a base recognizing ability of DNA and has a flexibility to adjust its orientation structure to the curvature of DNA. As such a substituent, an α-substituted γ-aminoalkylcarboxylic acid group is suitable, and α-substituted γ-aminobutyric acid is particularly preferable. As the α substituent, a hydroxyl group or an amino group can be preferably used. These substituents can recognize T · A and A · T base pairs of DNA. We have also developed new methods for preparing these suitable substituents. Polyamides incorporating such substituents can recognize specific genes more strongly than known polyamides and can control their expression more skillfully. [Selection] Figure 1 |
