PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-component polyurethane adhesive composition having a fast curing rate and an induction period before starting curing. A two-component polyurethane adhesive composition comprising a first component of one or more polyols and a second component of one or more isocyanates. The composition also includes one or more catalysts and one or more blocking agents to retard the curing reaction. This composition provides long open times, improved wettability to the substrates to be bonded, rapid cure speed and excellent final adhesion performance at room and elevated temperatures. Components such as fillers, chain extenders and plasticizers may be added as desired. In one embodiment, the catalyst is a tin catalyst such as dibutyltin dilaurate, which may be combined with other catalysts such as tertiary amines. In one embodiment, the blocking agent is 8-hydroxyquinoline. [Selection] Figure 1 |
