abstract |
The present invention provides a method for producing hydrogen peroxide having a step of activating both hydrogenation selectivity and activity of a hydrogenation catalyst used in a hydrogen peroxide production plant by an anthraquinone method. A reduction step of reducing a working solution containing an organic solvent and anthraquinones with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst, and a catalyst activation step of activating the hydrogenation catalyst having reduced hydrogenation selectivity due to repeated use. Wherein the catalyst activation step comprises a catalyst immersion liquid in which 5 parts by weight of pure water is mixed with 1 part by weight of the hydrogenated catalyst after activation, and the pH of the catalyst immersion liquid is 8.0 or more. And treating the hydrogenation catalyst with a first alkaline aqueous solution containing an alkali metal and having a pH of 10 or higher, and washing with water or a second alkaline aqueous solution that is weaker than the first alkaline aqueous solution.
