abstract |
An electrode material for an alkaline ion rechargeable battery having an ordered olivine or rhombohedral NASICON structure and containing at least one polyanion (PO 4 ) 3- as a constituent. The environmentally benign transition metal compound used is provided. A positive electrode material for a rechargeable electrochemical cell, the cell also comprising a negative electrode and an electrolyte, the positive electrode comprising a compound having the formula LiMPO 4 and M being at least one first row transition metal.
