abstract | A method for producing a pyridine compound. SOLUTION: A sulfanyl compound such as 2- (4-chloro-3-methoxypyrid-2-yl) methanesulfinyl-5-difluoromethoxy-1H-benzimidazole is used in an organic solvent in the presence of a catalyst such as RuCl3. The sulfinic compound, 2- (4-chloro-3-methoxypyrid-2-yl) methanesulfinyl-5-difluoromethoxy-1H-benzimidazole. Catalysts are V (II), V (III), V (V), Mo (II), Mo (III), Mo (IV), Mo (V), W (II), W (III), W (IV ), Re (III), Re (V) and Ru (II), Ru (III), Ru (IV), or a mixture of two or more thereof and substituted with 1-8 ligands The ligand is selected from halides, C1-C4 alkoxides, carbonates, ethylenediaminotetraacetic acid or salts thereof and diimine ligands. The organic solvent is selected from tetrahydrofuran, dioxane, diethyl ether, dichloromethane, dichloroethane and the like. [Selection figure] None |
