abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth magnet with less peeling of a protective layer and a manufacturing method thereof. A rare earth magnet 1 according to a preferred embodiment includes a magnet element 2 containing a metal element containing at least a rare earth element, inorganic particles 6 dispersedly attached to the surface of the magnet element 2, and a magnet. A protective layer 4 is provided on the surface of the element body 2 so as to cover the inorganic particles 6. The rare earth magnet 1 was deposited by treating the magnet body 2 in order with a first treatment liquid containing metal ions and a second treatment liquid having a pH different from that of the first treatment liquid.
