abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyvinyl acetal composition capable of forming a molded product and a coating film excellent in dispersibility of fine powder and excellent in tensile strength and transparency when formed into a film and at low cost. SOLUTION: A fine powder (B) having a dispersed particle diameter of 1000 nm or less is added to an aqueous solution having a polyvinyl alcohol (A) concentration of 1 to 20% by weight, and a weight ratio of (A) to (B) [(B) / (A)] is contained at a ratio of 0.5 / 100 to 50/100, and is subjected to an acetalization reaction in the presence of an acid catalyst and an aldehyde having 2 to 6 carbon atoms.
